A 24-year-old man named Romeo Florez-Perez was arrested in Texas over a homicide case dating back to Thanksgiving morning, when a body was found close to Emory Street canal in Kissimmee, Florida, according to local authorities.
The Kissimmee Police Department (KPD) announced the arrest following an investigation that began after the body was discovered on November 28, just before 8:20 a.m., and was soon after treated as a homicide, as stated in a WESH report. KPD's investigation quickly focused on Florez-Perez as the prime suspect, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Florez-Perez, evidently attempting to escape the reaches of domestic law enforcement, was found and detained in San Antonio, Texas.
In a statement shared by FOX 35 Orlando, KPD praised the efforts that led to the suspect's arrest, saying, "Through the dedication of our detectives and collaboration with local and federal agencies, the suspect was located and taken into custody." No further particulars of the suspect's capture or the case's evidence have been disclosed to the public.
