The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office has made arrests in a high-profile theft case, recovering over $40,000 in merchandise. According to KHOU, officials responded to a theft on Market Street in The Woodlands last Friday. The case swiftly took a turn three days later when the Crime Reduction Unit nabbed two suspects, Vladimir Vanegas Bolanos, 48, and Luz Johanna Usuga Garcia, 41, connecting them to the theft based on the vehicle description they were provided.
Both Bolanos and Garcia have been charged with Felony Theft and are being held at Montgomery County Jail. While they remained in custody, detectives are attempting to return the stolen items to the rightful owners, taken from retail centers across Montgomery and Harris counties, as reported KHOU.
Throughout the investigation, deputies scoured the area with the aid of a suspect and vehicle description that ultimately proved crucial in tracking the alleged perpetrators down. The property, said to be valued at approximately $42,000, was recovered and confirmed by the sheriff's office.
"Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office at (936) 760-5800, option 3, and reference case #24A339493," as mentioned in the Sheriff's Office public appeal detailed by Fox26 Houston.
