Tampa authorities have apprehended a suspect following a shooting at Silver Oaks Apartments. According to a statement by the Tampa Police Department, 22-year-old Joshua Thomas was arrested yesterday, after an incident that left one man wounded by gunfire.
The altercation took place in the 4200 block of Patsy Court, and police were called to the scene at approximately 9:10 a.m. The victim, an adult male, was quickly found to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was subsequently rushed to a local hospital and is now reported to be in stable condition. It's been determined that the suspect and the victim, who allegedly knew each other, were involved in a verbal confrontation that escalated quickly to Thomas reportedly intentionally grabbing a firearm and shooting the victim multiple times.
Thomas was taken into custody without further incident at the scene of the crime and has since been transported to Orient Road Jail. Facing severe legal charges, he is accused of One Felony Count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree with a Firearm and One Felony Count of Aggravated Battery.
