A pedestrian was left dead following a hit-and-run incident in Tampa. The Tampa Police Department arrived at the scene on the 5100 block of West Gandy Boulevard shortly after 11:00 p.m. yesterday, where they discovered the body, as reported by WFLA.
Further details provided by Tampa Free Press indicated that the victim was a male pedestrian struck by a vehicle while walking on the bridge, the offending driver immediately fled the scene. This accident resulted in the closure of westbound lanes of Gandy Boulevard at the location of the incident, causing significant traffic disruption extending into the early morning hours.
As of now, the Tampa Police Department has not released any description of the vehicle believed to be involved in the death of the pedestrian.
