Early this morning, a 19-year-old male was reportedly assaulted and robbed in the 1200 block of Wharf, according to a statement from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. The incident, involving two known male suspects, occurred around 1:30 a.m. when the suspects, driving a white Toyota Camry, approached the victim.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, said he was walking down the street when the suspects got out of their vehicle and confronted him. One of the suspects is said to have brandished a firearm and struck the teen in the face with it, forcefully enough to chip a tooth. The strike to the face resulted in facial pain, but even so, the victim refused medical attention at the scene.
"The teen said the suspect then struck him with the firearm in the face, causing his tooth to chip," according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's report. Afterward, the 19-year-old was robbed of his firearm and his possessions before the suspects fled the area.
Local authorities are actively investigating this crime and looking for leads that could help them to quickly apprehend the suspects.
