
A violent encounter unfolded on the streets of downtown Sacramento last night, resulting in the stabbing of a 16-year-old girl and the arrest of a 15-year-old boy. According to the Sacramento Police Department, officers responded to a distress call near J Street between Seventh and Eighth streets shortly after 9 p.m., as per information obtained by KCRA 3.
The officers found the teenage victim with a stab wound upon arrival. She was promptly transported to a local hospital, where she is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries. The incident scene was temporarily cordoned off, disrupting the usual activity of the downtown block. Evidence on the sidewalk and a lane on J Street was closed during the investigation, as reported by KCRA 3.
Shortly after the incident, law enforcement officials apprehended the alleged perpetrator, a 15-year-old male. According to a statement from the police, noted by FOX40, the boy is now facing attempted homicide charges. The circumstances that led to the stabbing remain under investigation.
