A 16-year-old boy was critically injured in a shooting that occurred in North Philadelphia yesterday evening. The Philadelphia Police found the teenager suffering from gunshot wounds to his back and abdomen around 7:30 p.m. on the 1900 block of Cecil B. Moore Avenue, which is an area that has now become an investigative scene as officers work to unfold the circumstances leading to the violence, NBC Philadelphia reported.
Despite the swift transportation of the victim to Temple University Hospital where he is now listed in critical but stable condition, the shooter, or potentially shooters, remain unidentified and at large; the Philadelphia Police Department has made no arrests, and a weapon was not recovered at the scene, as The Inquirer notes.
In response to this shooting, the Philadelphia Police Department is reaching out to the community for assistance, urging anyone with potential information to come forward. They have provided contact details for the Shooting Investigation Group and a tip line for anonymous reports, according to FOX 29.
