Three suspects have been taken into custody in a fatal shooting that occurred in Waianae on the evening last Thursday. According to KHON2, the suspects, two 17-year-old males, and one 19-year-old male, were arrested between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday, with each facing charges of Murder in the Second Degree and Attempted Murder in the First Degree, among other offenses.
Witnesses reported a white Toyota Camry from which shots were fired shortly after 9 p.m. The vehicle was said to quickly flee towards Farrington Highway. Following the shooting, a 28-year-old male victim was discovered with a gunshot wound and transported in critical condition to the Queen’s Medical Center-West, where he sadly passed away. The Honolulu Police Department conducted interviews and painstakingly reviewed surveillance footage, ultimately recovering the suspect vehicle and evidence including bullet casings for testing. This evidence has become a critical piece in the ongoing investigation.
