A crash in Macomb Township on Thursday afternoon involved an Uber driver and two other vehicles, leaving three people hospitalized, one in critical condition. The incident occurred near Hall and Heydenreich Roads. According to Audacy, a white Chevy Bolt, operating as an Uber, was speeding when it struck a teal Ford Taurus that was turning into a business complex.
As detailed by Macomb Daily, the impact of the crash pushed the Taurus into a white SUV, but the SUV driver was not injured. The 55-year-old man driving the Taurus, from Macomb Township, sustained severe injuries and is in critical condition at the hospital. The 37-year-old Uber driver from Shelby Township and their passenger were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Authorities have stated that alcohol was not a factor in a recent crash on Hall Road, which is still under investigation. Local residents have raised concerns about speeding in the area, particularly near intersections. The Sheriff’s Office is advising drivers to be more cautious, and some residents are calling for stricter speed enforcement, as reported by Country Herald.
