A disturbance in a Rancho Cucamonga neighborhood escalated into a pursuit on Sunday when deputies responded to a report of individuals with a firearm and ended up arresting three suspects after a chase, the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department reported. At around 3:28 P.M., deputies arrived at the 12000 block of North Mainstreet following calls about a disturbance, where they attempted to make contact with several suspects including a 16-year-old juvenile, 19-year-old Issac Cannon, and 20-year-old Marlon Gutierrez.
According to the official incident release, when deputies arrived on the scene two of the suspects attempted to flee on foot while Marlon Gutierrez was apprehended shortly after in a nearby parking structure, Issac Cannon evaded initial capture only to be found at a local shopping center where he initiated a vehicle pursuit. Cannon was eventually stopped on the 210 Freeway after a Pursuit Intervention Technique was used by a deputy; he then tried to escape on foot before being detained.
The unidentified juvenile was found to be carrying a loaded firearm and was also arrested for resisting an executive officer; after Gutierrez's arrest for the same charge, both he and Cannon, who was booked for felony evading, were transported to the West Valley Detention Center, with the juvenile being placed in San Bernardino Juvenile Hall. The Sheriff's Department has requested that anyone with further information on the incident should contact the Rancho Cucamonga Station at 909-477-2800, while anonymous tips can be directed to the We-Tip Hotline at 1-800-CRIME (27463) or through their website.
