Three individuals sustained injuries from a shooting that occurred last Saturday morning in Milwaukee. The Milwaukee Police Department reports that the incident took place around 3 a.m. near Holten and Townsend Streets. According to TMJ4, a 49-year-old victim was seriously wounded with multiple gunshots but is expected to survive. Additionally, a 16-year-old and a 29-year-old each suffered gunshot wounds, though none of the injuries are considered life-threatening.
The shooting unfolded inside an establishment known as '414 Social Club,' an after-hours club that has been operating for the last three months. The owner estimated that between 10 to 30 people were present when gunshots were fired. In a statement obtained by Journal Sentinel, police are in pursuit of a suspect or suspects linked to the crime and are currently investigating the factors that precipitated the shooting.
Local residents are still recuperating from the early morning violence. A mother living nearby shared with WISN 12 News that her daughter heard cries for help as the incident unfolded. "She saw somebody run out shooting, and then they left," she told the news station. The area surrounding the 3400 block of North Holton Street, where the '414 Social Club' resides, remains under focus as the police continue their inquiry.
Milwaukee authorities are now examining the licensing of the after-hours club alongside the criminal investigation. The Milwaukee Police Department is appealing to the public for information that may assist in resolving the case.
