Community members of Gravois Park are once again faced with the sobering reality of violence as a 17-year-old Romel White fell victim to a shooting just days before Christmas. According to an update from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident took place in the 3600 block of Minnesota, marking another tragic event in the neighborhood's struggle with gun violence.
The call came through shortly after 7:45 p.m. on Monday, alerting officers to shots fired. Upon arrival, they discovered Romel White, of the 2900 block of Keokuk, suffering from a gunshot wound on the chest. Emergency Medical Services rushed to the scene, transporting White to a hospital.
The Police Department has yet to release information regarding suspects or motives, leaving an aching void where justice ought to reside.
