A fatal car accident occurred in Houston this morning at approximately 4:45 a.m., police responded to the scene at 12500 Westheimer Road, where a gray Ford Fusion had collided with another vehicle and a business. The crash resulted in one fatality, though the victim's identity has not yet been released, according to the City of Houston's official news site.
The report indicates that the gray Ford Fusion was traveling westbound when it collided with a blue Mazda 6 and a white Ford Fusion at the intersection of South Dairy Ashford Road. The Mazda struck a curb, and the white Ford Fusion, which sustained minor damage, was able to pull into a nearby parking lot. The gray Ford Fusion continued uncontrollably and crashed into the exterior wall of a building, where it caught fire, resulting in the driver's death.
The investigation is being led by HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer L. Ho, who are working to reconstruct the events surrounding the collision. The identity of the deceased is still pending, as it is being processed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
