Travelers and commuters utilizing the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 at Belleau Creek in St. Charles County will need to plan for potential delays in the coming days due to scheduled pavement work. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced lane closures as part of ongoing bridge rehabilitation efforts, contingent on favorable weather conditions.
The work is set to begin on Monday, December 9th, and will continue into the week, with specific hours of operation detailed by MoDOT. Motorists can expect to find the left turn lane and middle lane of southbound Bryan Road over I-70 closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday. Additionally, the pavement work will require the closure of up to two lanes of eastbound I-70 at Belleau Creek to be closed starting from 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 12 until 5 a.m. the following morning.
According to an update published on MoDOT's official website, the closures are necessary for the completion of the pavement work, which forms part of the larger bridge rehabilitation project. Drivers are advised to take caution when approaching the work zones and to consider alternative routes where possible to avoid delays.
The disruption will continue into the weekend, with up to two lanes of eastbound I-70 at Belleau Creek scheduled to once again close on Friday, December 13, beginning at 7 p.m. and not expected to reopen until 9 a.m. Saturday. Commuters should plan to leave earlier or find different paths to reach their destinations on time during these periods. For the most current information regarding the lane closures and work progress, road users are encouraged to visit MoDOT's advisory notice.
