According to a statement cited by Becker's Hospital Review, "The patient is currently under isolation, and their condition has been reported to the Ohio Department of Health." It is standard procedure for University Hospitals to notify the Ohio Department of Health of cases involving potential public health concerns. Steps have been taken to swiftly isolate and properly evaluate the patient, adhering to established safety protocols.
The situation arises amidst health investigations in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where an unidentified illness has resulted in over 370 cases and numerous deaths.
