
A tragic incident in Spring Hill, Florida, has resulted in the deaths of two brothers after a dispute reportedly over a car, ending in murder-suicide, authorities said. Hernando County deputies were dispatched to the scene after a chilling 911 call from 39-year-old Anthony Coyle, who confessed to the operator that he had shot his brother, and intimated he would be awaiting deputies' arrival outside his residence, according to details provided by WFLA.
Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the mother of the two men, who relayed that her sons Anthony and Robert Coyle were embroiled in a "heated" disagreement surrounding Anthony's use of Robert's car, escalating to the point where Anthony Coyle retrieved a gun and shot Robert, the details of which have been corroborated by another report from ABC Action News. After the fatal act, Anthony Coyle made the desperate call to 911, wherein he admitted to the shooting and subsequently informed his mother of his refusal to live his life confined behind bars, subsequently he ended his own life.
The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating the incident as a murder-suicide, and both brothers were declared deceased from their injuries at the scene, as stated in a follow-up by WTSP. The matter has deeply affected the local community, casting a somber mood over what was the beginning of the holiday shopping season, as the event occurred on Black Friday.
