
Two officers from the Columbus Division of Police have been hospitalized after being involved in a hit-and-run crash this morning in east Columbus. The incident occurred around 5:15 a.m. at Alum Creek Drive and East Livingston Avenue, near the Interstate 70 and U.S. Route 33 interchange. According to authorities, medics transported both officers to Grant Medical Center with injuries that have been classified as minor. As reported by NBC4i, the two officers are now in stable condition.
Following the accident, the other vehicle involved reportedly fled the scene. Currently, the Columbus Police have not described the vehicle. An investigation is actively underway to apprehend the driver responsible for the hit-and-run. As details emerge, police have not disclosed how the crash occurred, but the early morning collision has prompted an active search for a suspect vehicle.
