The incident, which occurred around 12:15 p.m. on the bustling 20000 block of Ventura Boulevard, left two people needing hospital care, according to NBC Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed the transportation of the injured parties but further details on their condition were sparse.
Witness accounts suggest that the white SUV initially crashed into one entrance of a strip mall before reversing and continuing its destructive path into the lobby of Veterinary Cancer Group, which is adjacent to the Access Specialty Animal Hospital. An optical business appears to have suffered damage in the wake of the crash. "The SUV hopped a curb and slammed into one strip mall entrance before the driver tried to back up," one witness at the clinic with her dog shared with NBC Los Angeles.
The aftermath saw the SUV lodged within the lobby area, with images captured by SkyFOX illustrating the extent of the intrusion. Emergency crews were successful in extricating the vehicle from the building and prepared it for removal by a tow truck. "It's unclear what caused the vehicle to drive into the building.
