Two individuals were hospitalized following a shooting incident near the DART MLK Jr. Station in South Dallas on Tuesday. FOX 4 News reported that the shooting occurred around 4 p.m., and the victims, a man and a woman, were discovered at the intersection of South Boulevard and Meadow Street. The conditions of both individuals, taken to a nearby hospital, remain undisclosed.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and as of yet, the suspects remain at large, with the Dallas police having not released any descriptions of the persons of interest. The afternoon altercation resulted in authorities converging on the scene, where, a spokesperson for DART confirmed to WFAA that a suspect opened fire at two individuals from the station's platform before fleeing before the arrival of officers.

Despite the violent event, DART operations were reportedly unaffected. Still, the DART spokesperson noted that the victims were not on DART property when they were shot. DART police are now leading the investigation, with support from Dallas PD, to uncover the circumstances that led to the shooting and to identify the assailant responsible for the violence that shook the community.

Footage from WFAA's chopper showed an influx of police cars and personnel at the scene near the DART station. This area known for teeming life and daily commute, was momentarily transformed into the epicenter of an active crime scene investigation. The public is urged to come forward with any information that could assist law enforcement in their ongoing efforts to apprehend the shooter and bring peace of mind back to a community unsettled by this act of violence.
