Two men have been arrested in connection with a homicide in Houston last month. Alex Mejia Pineda, 33, is charged with murder, and Alex Herrera Calderon, 24, is charged with tampering with evidence related to a body. The Houston Police Department released their booking photos after the arrests.
Erik Eduardo Zavala-Flores, 28, was found dead in a burning vehicle on November 10. An autopsy showed he died from a gunshot wound. Investigators learned he was last seen at a bar on Jensen Drive. Witnesses said he was shot in the parking lot and then put into his truck by one suspect, with another suspect following, as reported by the Houston Police Department.
Investigators identified Mejia Pineda and Herrera Calderon as the suspects. Herrera Calderon was arrested on November 20, and Mejia Pineda was arrested on Monday. Both were charged and are scheduled to appear in court, as stated by the Houston Police Department.
