The long arm of the law reached into Sparks, Nevada, where the U.S. Marshals, in coordination with local police, arrested a man long sought for sexual assault allegations dating back over a decade. Flearnard Roseby, 69, was taken into custody on December 12 in connection with a 2011 sexual assault case. According to a report by News 3 LV, an arrest warrant had been issued for Roseby on August 29, 2022, culminating in Roseby's arrest without incident in the 1900 block of Baring Boulevard.
Information provided by the U.S. Marshals to FOX5 Vegas indicates that the Nevada Violent Offender Task Force had received a tip about Roseby's location in Reno before Roseby was, who was tracked to neighboring Sparks where Roseby found and arrested. U.S. Marshal Gary Schofield emphasized the importance of collaboration in law enforcement, stating, “This arrest reflects our commitment to protecting victims and removing dangerous individuals through strong collaboration across the state.”
The Nevada Violent Offender Task Force, a conglomeration of officers from multiple agencies including the U.S. Marshals, local police departments, and county sheriff's offices, is credited with the coordinated effort leading to the arrest. Roseby now faces two charges of sexual assault and is being held in Washoe County Jail as he awaits extradition to Clark County to face said charges, as reported by News 3 LV.
The sexual assault investigation is said to remain active; Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is handling ongoing inquiries into the case.
