A fire prompted the evacuation of Uncle Julio's restaurant in Brookfield on Sunday, causes a stir among local diners but thankfully resulting in no injuries. Firefighters responded to a call just after 3 pm, received by the Waukesha County 911 Communications Center, to tackle the blaze that appeared to originate from the establishment's exhaust system, as reported by the WISN.

According to WISN, the staff and patrons of the Moorland Road and Brookfield Square Drive restaurant were evacuated safely before firefighters arrived. First responders found smoke emanating from the roof area of the building. On investigating further, they concentrated on suppressing flames in the hood system located over a charcoal grill. The effort to control the fire took under an hour.

No structural damage to the building was reported, as the fire's impact remained confined to the kitchen. WTMJ noted the fire department's statement that the damage was isolated to the kitchen area, with no further smoke or fire damage to the actual building.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, with details yet to be uncovered about its initiation. In a statement reported by GMToday, the city of Brookfield Fire Department did not comment on the presence or absence of smoke alarms within the building but issued a reminder about the importance of such safety measures.
