Dan Mullen is returning to coaching after a brief stint as an analyst with ESPN. He will replace Barry Odom as head coach at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Odom left the program to take a job at Purdue after leading the Rebels to a 19-8 record and back-to-back appearances in the Mountain West championship game. Mullen, who previously coached at Mississippi State and Florida, is tasked with continuing University of Nevada, Las Vegas's upward trajectory.
Mullen has a strong coaching background, including leading Florida to three "New Year's Six" bowl games from 2018-2020. However, his time at Florida ended after a 5-6 season in 2021. Now, he’s taking over at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, hoping to bring some of his SEC experience to improve the team. University of Nevada, Las Vega will play Cal in the Art of Sport LA Bowl on Wednesday, as stated by ESPN.
