The University of Nevada, Las Vegas is set to hire Dan Mullen as their next head football coach. Mullen has reportedly agreed to a five-year deal with the school, though the contract has not yet been finalized. The formal announcement is expected soon, according to News3.

Dan Mullen is returning to coaching after a brief stint as an analyst with ESPN. He will replace Barry Odom as head coach at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Odom left the program to take a job at Purdue after leading the Rebels to a 19-8 record and back-to-back appearances in the Mountain West championship game. Mullen, who previously coached at Mississippi State and Florida, is tasked with continuing University of Nevada, Las Vegas's upward trajectory.

Mullen has a strong coaching background, including leading Florida to three "New Year's Six" bowl games from 2018-2020. However, his time at Florida ended after a 5-6 season in 2021. Now, he’s taking over at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, hoping to bring some of his SEC experience to improve the team.
