The Vallejo Police Department was on alert, responding to a gunfire incident in the city. According to a social media post by the Vallejo Police Department, officers from the department's Patrol Division heard multiple gunshots in the vicinity of Louisiana Street and Broadway Street last Thursday. A Flock Safety Raven camera, part of the city’s technological apparatus to combat crime, provided a location for the shots to an area near El Dorado Street and Overland Alley.
The officers located two males at the 1200 block of El Dorado Street. As they tried to speak to them, one male discarded a firearm with a high-capacity magazine and fled, leading to a foot chase. Meanwhile, the other male resisted an officer's order to get on the ground and attempted to flee as well but was subdued after a brief physical struggle.
The chase led officers to a home on the 100 block of Broadway Street, where reportedly uncooperative residents impeded the law enforcement effort. Despite the homeowner's protests and accusations of untruthfulness regarding the suspect entering his home, officers established a perimeter and searched the residence. They arrested the homeowner, who was under felony probation, for obstruction and probation violation after they found sufficient evidence to assert their claims.
The initial suspect was observed leaving the home in a turn that further complicated the situation. A check of records revealed that the youthful suspect lived at that very address. This juvenile and the two adults were taken into custody, with the adults being transported to the Solano County Jail and the juvenile to the Solano County Juvenile Detention Facility.
