The Vegas Golden Knights have teamed up with the Clark County School District (CCSD) to give local students a taste of hockey right on their school grounds, with the completion and unveiling of 20 revamped ball hockey blacktops at Title 1 CCSD schools, the latest in their community outreach efforts known as 'Operation Knight Courts.' According to NHL, a ribbon-cutting event and a hockey clinic were recently hosted at Walter E. Jacobson Elementary School, symbolizing the broader objective to spread the love for hockey among youngsters.

The resurfacing project, designed to create new spaces for ball hockey, was celebrated as part of the team's Holiday Knights of Giving and coincided with CCSD's 12 Days of Recognition. "This new surface at Walter E. Jacobson Elementary School and the others like it at other CCSD schools offer a great location for young kids to be introduced to hockey," said Kim Frank, President and Chief Community Officer of the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation, in a statement obtained by NHL.

Furthermore, to ensure that the schools have what they need to put these new courts to good use, the Golden Knights have generously provided ball hockey equipment to each of the 20 schools, a move that bolsters the hands-on experience for the students. The funding necessary for resurfacing, a not insignificant concern, came through the support of the NHL and NHLPA's Industry Growth Fund, as reported by News3LV.

Over fifty students from Jacobson Elementary were the first to try out the newly resurfaced courts, with Golden Knights youth hockey coaches and Knights Guard member.
