On Thursday, Benicia Police Department officers were dispatched following a report of a prowler disturbing the peace of West L Street residents. The law enforcers quickly apprehended a 62-year-old man from Walnut Creek who was found skulking behind a parked vehicle, according to the Benicia Police Department's social media update. A block away from where he was detained, the suspect's vehicle yielded an array of items consistent with burglary, including a wallet, a selection of tools typically used in break-ins and drug paraphernalia.
With the man detained, the subsequent scouring of the surroundings led police to uncover more than just the suspect's wallet. They also found a meth pipe and a knife alongside a dagger, among other possessions, in the suspect's vehicle.
The Benicia Police did not report any altercation during the arrest, affirming that the accused was booked into Solano County Jail. Charges leveled against him include prowling and possession of burglary tools.
