On the day after Christmas, an incident on Houston's North Freeway resulted in more than just flashing lights and rubbernecking. It led to the apprehension of Edward Phillips, a man with not one, but multiple warrants to his name. Deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Office, responding to a disturbance call near the 17400 block, found themselves face to face with the wanted individual.
Phillips, who was reportedly at the center of the disturbance, was quickly identified by law enforcement and found to be sought not only in Harris County but also out of Robertson County. "Edward Phillips was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the open warrants. His bond amount and court information is not set at this time," were the words of Constable Mark Herman according to a statement obtained by My Texas Daily.
The arrest puts an end to what might have been a lingering game of cat and mouse between Phillips and the authorities. Details of his alleged crimes, however, were not disclosed in the immediate reports. It's a reminder that disturbances, often seen as mundane calls for officers, can sometimes lead to unexpected outcomes.
