The City of Waukesha is easing the post-holiday clean-up efforts by offering a Christmas tree curbside pickup service through the Department of Public Works. As residents look to dispose of their festive firs and pines, they can simply place their Christmas trees at the curb on the same day as their garbage collection day. According to the City of Waukesha official announcement, this service is set to run throughout the month of January.
However, despite the simplicity of the procedure, the City does note that the actual pickup schedule may vary. "City Public Works crews will pick them up as they see them and the pickup schedule depends on time and other circumstances - plowing and other projects may take priority," explains the City of Waukesha's website. This means that while residents should stick to their regular trash day for tree disposal, the trees may not be picked up immediately depending on workload and weather conditions.
It's crucial that residents take note of the deadline for this service; the City has made it clear that January 31, 2025, is the last day for Christmas tree pickups. Trees left on the terrace after this date will no longer be the responsibility of the City and will need to be removed by the property owner themselves.
