A water main break in West El Paso has led to the closure of three local schools and affected hundreds of residents, with the situation expected to be rectified soon. Lundy and Tippin Elementary Schools along with Hornedo Middle School were forced to cancel Tuesday's classes due to a rupture in the main water supply line servicing the High Ridge area near the schools, as reported by KFOX-TV.
Meanwhile, a Tuesday evening update from El Paso Water suggested a valve installation was a critical step towards a return to normalcy, with the assurance that water service would be largely restored by early Wednesday. However, certain areas may continue to experience low water pressure, according to El Paso Times.
To alleviate hardship, EPWater has provided drinking-water trucks at two locations, Ojo de Agua and Via Descanso, High Ridge and Via Serena. Impacted citizens are advised to bring their containers for collection of water for handwashing, brushing teeth, and toilet flushing. Additionally, the utility has made available water gallons for the residents' convenience, as detailed by KTSM.
