In a recent social media post, they announced the upcoming "Home for the Holidays" foster event, inviting locals to foster a pet for Christmas. To get involved, prospective pet fosters are required to send an email to [email protected] for a questionnaire and to fill out their foster form in advance. Those eager to scope out potential new pals can do so the week before the event, though they caution that due to the first-come, first-served nature of the event, no guarantees can be made about the availability of specific animals. Walking through the doors on December 23, participants can pick their pet, with the recommendation to bring existing dogs along for a meet-and-greet to ensure a good match.
The chosen pets can be taken home on the same day, with the shelter providing the necessary supplies for the short-term foster. "Home for the Holidays" is a temporary arrangement, with all fostered pets expected to be returned on December 26, unless another date is agreed upon with the shelter's staff.
