In recognition of fostering community-police relations, the White Settlement Police Department has once again garnered national attention. According to the White Settlement Police Department's social media post, the department has been awarded the 2024 National Night Out Award, ranking 19th for community populations ranging from 15,000 to 50,000. This marks their third consecutive year of national recognition for their National Night Out activities.
With regularity now expected, Mayor Faron Young lauded the police and city departments for their efforts, expressing his pride in the department's initiative to strengthen community bonds. "This is a huge honor for the City of White Settlement and our residents," Young said, as per the White Settlement Police Department. Hosting this annual event to foster positive relationships between residents and law enforcement has been an ongoing commitment, mentioned by the department.
Police Chief Christopher Cook echoed the sentiment, attributing the award to the community's drive and the department's ongoing endeavors. "This prestigious designation is a testament to the dedication and commitment to community engagement programs that seek to bolster trust, raise public safety awareness, and connect residents with local police officers, city officials, federal law enforcement, and military personnel," said Chief Cook, as cited by the White Settlement Police Department. The department's outreach during the event, according to Cook, was crucial in securing the award.
