A 27-year-old woman, Gabrielle Jones, was taken into custody, accused of multiple stabbings that occurred on Thanksgiving, as per the Shelby County Sheriff's Office. Action News 5 reported that she was located and arrested at the Greenbrook Apartments near Whitten Road and Greenbrook Parkway around 7:00 pm.
Details provided by the authorities indicate Jones is the suspect in a violent incident outside a nightclub on November 28, in which a man and her sister were stabbed in a parking lot near Hacks Cross Road in southeast Shelby County. According to FOX13 Memphis, the female victim underwent three emergency surgeries after being stabbed eight times with injuries to her liver and spleen, while the man sustained arm injuries.
Jones now faces serious charges stemming from the altercation. The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office detailed that she stands accused of attempted second-degree murder and aggravated assault. The arrest executed by the Fugitive Apprehension Team, K-9 unit, and Patrol deputies, took place without incident, as stated by WREG.
The courthouse records and the Sheriff's Office affidavit outline a grim scene resulting from the Thanksgiving confrontation. The stabbing left both a man and a woman in what was described as non-critical condition. Still, the complexities of the female victim's injuries suggest a narrow escape from a much grimmer outcome, with the Sheriff's Office charging Jones with two counts of aggravated assault, amid the more severe attempted murder charge.
