A fatal stabbing in Philadelphia's Kingsessing section left a 44-year-old woman dead on an enclosed porch last night. According to NBC Philadelphia, the victim was found unresponsive and bleeding by officers who arrived at the Whitby Avenue home around 8:30 p.m. It was minutes later that medics pronounced her dead.
Two men found at the scene were held for questioning regarding the incident, as per 6abc.
They allegedly knew the victim, frequenting the residence and sometimes staying overnight, although she did not live there. "We believe they all know each other," Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said, according to a statement obtained by NBC Philadelphia.
6abc reports that the woman, whose identity has not been disclosed by authorities, was found with a stab wound on the left side of her body. The discovery turned the case into a homicide investigation.
Inside the house, cluttered with various items, no weapon was found by the police, details confirmed by PennLive.
