
A woman was hospitalized after an early morning shooting in Redondo Beach on Sunday. The incident occurred in the 2700 block of Vanderbilt Lane, with the Redondo Beach Police Department receiving calls just after 5 a.m., as reported by KTLA.
Upon their arrival at the scene, the officers located the woman who was suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim's injuries were deemed non-life-threatening, and she was promptly taken to the hospital, according to KTLA. Police have initiated an investigation into the shooting, which caused a significant police presence in the neighborhood.
In statements obtained by City News Service, Sgt. Terrence Stevens encouraged those with information on the incident to come forward. He assured the public that preliminary findings suggested that the shooting was an isolated event, and "there is no known ongoing threat to the public."
