A woman was shot in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood just before the stroke of yesterday midnight, with a man now in custody over the incident. Officers from District 1 responded to a distress call from the 4600 block of Oregon where they found a 30-year-old woman wounded by a gunshot to the abdomen according to a statement obtained by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's website.
The victim, who has yet to be named, was transported to the hospital by private conveyance and her condition was listed stable despite her uncooperativeness with police and the inconsistent statements she provided; the authorities are still piecing together what transpired.
