Early Monday morning, the quiet of Woodland Hills was disrupted by a break-in at a local eatery. The Corner Grille, a Korean Fusion restaurant situated at the intersection of Ventura and Topanga Canyon boulevards, became the target of a vandal who was caught on camera executing the crime. According to ABC7, surveillance footage timestamped just before 1:30 a.m. displays a suspect throwing an object at the restaurant's windows before striking the door. The police arrived on the scene after the perpetrator had fled.
Further details provided by KTLA reveal that the suspect employed a rock and subsequently a pickaxe in a crude attempt to gain entry, first by shattering a window and then by trying to break the glass further. The Los Angeles Police Department, while confirming that the suspect had successfully penetrated the establishment, did not release a description of the suspect and remarked that it was unclear if anything was taken.
This particular crime, however, seems to have netted the suspect a paltry sum. Authorities reporting to ABC7 stated that the suspect got away with just $10, underscoring the senselessness and risks taken for such a minor gain. The LAPD has not yet identified a suspect and the investigation continues as they sift through evidence and call on the community for assistance.
