A hit-and-run incident in Madison Heights has resulted in the death of a 68-year-old man, which occurred yesterday afternoon as the victim was waiting at a bus stop. CBS News Detroit reports that the emergency call was made around 4:53 p.m., with the incident taking place on the southbound side of Dequindre Road, just north of 11 Mile Road.
Following the crash, the victim was rushed to Corewell Health / Royal Oak Beaumont hospital, where he was ultimately pronounced dead due to his injuries sustained the accident the description of the vehicle given by the police was a gold Toyota Camry with Michigan license plates. In a subsequent development, Madison Heights Police has confirmed that the suspect involved in the incident was taken into custody later in the evening, according to information obtained by Audacy.
Authorities had been searching for the gold Toyota Camry responsible for the hit-and-run, bearing the license plate number 8QFV54, which is expected to have sustained front-end damage from the collision.
