ABC13 reports that the attack, perpetrated by a pit bull, occurred yesterday at approximately 3:59 p.m. in the 21200 block of Shadow River Lane, as stated by the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office.
In a developing story from Click2Houston, deputies had responded to an aggressive animal humane call in the same location. They arrived to find that a child had been attacked and sustained bite injuries from the dog. The boy was then rushed to a local hospital for treatment of his wounds.
Harris County Constable Mark Herman took to social media to discuss the incident and remind residents about leash laws. "This is for the safety of everyone. An unleashed dog approaching can make dogs and people uncomfortable," Herman said in a statement, as reported by ABC13.
