The Los Angeles Police Department reports that after the incident, the driver did not stop to offer assistance or communicate with police officers. Instead, the individual drove away from the scene, leaving the woman without the immediate care that might have been her slender lifeline in the crucial moments following the crash. She was pronounced dead at the site of the accident. As the investigation continues, a reward of up to $50,000 has been offered for information leading to the suspect's identification and conviction, as noted by the LAPD News release.
The LAPD Central Traffic Division is leading the investigation and has put out a call for the public's aid. As per LAPD, officials stressed the importance of driving responsibly and reminded motorists of their legal obligations to stop and assist in the event of a collision.
