
Tragedy struck on a quiet street in Baltimore's Northwest District yesterday afternoon when a 9-year-old girl suffered a gunshot wound in what is being investigated as an accidental shooting. At approximately 3:16 p.m., police officers were called to the scene at the 3500 block of Ingleside Avenue, where, upon their arrival, they discovered the young victim. Baltimore Police reported that she was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Homicide detectives have joined the investigation, underscoring the grievous nature of the situation. As the girl fights for her life, the community is left grappling with the circumstances that led to such a dire incident happening to one so young.
