An Aloha woman lost her life in a fire that swept through an apartment complex this past weekend. Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies, accompanied by Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, the Hillsboro Fire Department, and American Medical Response, arrived at the scene in the 18600 block of SW Mapleoak Lane yesterday afternoon. According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the fire occurred within the Cascade Woods apartment complex in the community of Aloha.
The victim, Robin L. Wilkinson, was 64 years old. Authorities confirmed she did not survive the blaze and that her family had been notified. A detective from the Violent Crimes Unit is working with fire investigators to piece together the events that led to the tragedy. It's still too early in the investigation to determine if any illicit activities contributed to the fire’s inception, and details remain sparse as law enforcement continues its work.
Residents of adjacent apartments who were forced to evacuate because of the fire received support from the American Red Cross.
