An off-duty Anne Arundel County police officer has found himself on the wrong side of the law after an alleged hit-and-run involving his vehicle and a marked police car. CBS News Baltimore reported that Corporal Russell Ruehl, a five-year officer assigned to the Bureau of Community Services, was charged yesterday with multiple traffic citations. Ruehl was off duty during the incident, which occurred on December 28.
Additional information detailed by WMAR-2 News noted that Ruehl's actions have led to his administrative suspension without pay as the investigation continues.
Details about the crash are limited, and no injuries have been reported. The Office of Professional Standards is investigating to ensure transparency and accountability.
