Anne Arundel County is bracing for significant traffic disruptions to honor a hero. Late Wednesday, the Anne Arundel County Police Department alerted the community to expect notable traffic delays on Mountain Road from 2:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. These disruptions are tied to a viewing service for the late Montgomery County Master Firefighter, Christopher Higgins, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty earlier this month. According to Anne Arundel County Police Department's social media post, the viewing will occur at McCully Polyniak & Collins Funeral Home at 3204 Mountain Road.

The ceremony for Master Firefighter Higgins is expected to draw a large crowd, leading to road closures on Tick Neck Road between Gladnor Road and Mountain Road during viewing hours. Increased pedestrian traffic is anticipated as community members, colleagues, and loved ones gather to pay their respects.
Christopher Higgins' end of watch on January 11 has profoundly impacted the community he served. Anne Arundel County Police officers will be on-site to manage traffic during the event.
