The event aims to bolster the community's knowledge of school safety protocols, a crucial convergence for parents and stakeholders within the district. Eli Devis, Chief of Police, and Michael Lemish, Security Coordinator, are poised to spearhead the presentation series with a comprehensive expose of the safety and security measures currently implemented to safeguard students and staff in the educational domain.
According to an announcement by the Argyle ISD Police Department, the event scheduled for 6 PM at AISD Argyle West Elementary School is part of a series designed to "educate and equip" the AISD community with essential information concerning the district's safety and security protocols.
Notably, the session opens dialogue on armed staff, threat assessments, safety drills, medical response training, and bullying within schools. Reporting methods and legal aspects such as the confidentiality mandated by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) will also be elucidated, the envisioning an informed community that participates more actively in maintaining a secure environment for the young minds at risk.
