This coming January 9th marks National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, and Arizona State Representative Lupe Diaz is leading the charge in his community to honor the dedication and sacrifice of law enforcement officers not just in Arizona but across the nation. Diaz, along with House Republicans, calls on Arizonans to show their support for those who serve to maintain public safety.
According to a release from the Arizona House of Representatives, Diaz expressed, "In a time when some mismanaged cities and misguided politicians are still pushing to defund law enforcement, Arizona House Republicans stand firmly and proudly with our law enforcement professionals." He went on to add their undeterred support for the "brave men and women who work to protect our families and maintain public safety in our communities," this comes at a time when the role of law enforcement is hotly debated across the country, but Diaz's stance is clear—support is unwavering for their state's officers.
Trying to manifest this appreciation tangibly, this day encourages people to thank an officer, wear blue, and share messages of support over social media with the #LawEnforcementAppreciationDay hashtag, as per the Arizona House of Representatives. Such acts aim to create a wave of support for men and women in blue across various platforms.
Representative Lupe Diaz, assembling support for law enforcement, represents Arizona's Legislative District 19, a region stretching across Southeastern Arizona, and he also chairs the House Land, Agriculture & Rural Affairs Committee, responsibility and leadership are part and parcel of his service, just as they are for the officers he's honoring.
