
On January 10, an exchange of gunfire erupted during an aggravated robbery call at a business located in the 600 block of W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Details of the incident have now been made public, as the Arlington Police Department has recently released a range of footage captured by body-worn cameras, dashboard cameras, and surveillance systems.
In an online release, the Arlington Police Department expressed relief that no officers were injured in the confrontation. The apprehension of two suspects, 37-year-old Kelvin Bivens and 38-year-old Kevin Lewis, has since taken place. Bivens faces charges of aggravated robbery and aggravated assault against a public servant, and, a felony warrant out of Shreveport, Louisiana. Lewis has been charged with one count of aggravated robbery, according to officials.
Both suspects are currently in police custody. "Mr. Bivens was charged with one count of Aggravated Robbery and one count of Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant. He was also booked on an outstanding felony warrant out of Shreveport, Louisiana," stated the Arlington Police Department in a social media post. "Mr. Lewis has been charged with one count of Aggravated Robbery," the post added.
