Following a series of smash-and-grab burglaries at a Superior gas station, arrest warrants have been issued for three juveniles, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office disclosed. The incidents, which rattled the quiet town back in November 2024, prompted a public appeal for assistance in capturing the suspects, who were believed to be teenagers or young adults at the time of the crimes. Vandalizing the Safeway gas station at 1603 Coalton Road, the perpetrators used rocks to break through doors and windows to loot tobacco and vaping products, according to Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
All three individuals, whose names have not been released due to their minor status, were charged with 2nd Degree Burglary (F4), Criminal Mischief (M2), and Theft (M2). Yesterday, the suspects had surrendered to the Boulder County Juvenile Assessment Center. These developments come after the Sheriff's Office shared suspect descriptions, where one was noted for a costume choice as peculiar as it was conspicuous, a panda costume, and others were identified by the colors of their sneakers, and, the bags they carried.
Authorities, initially stumped by the burglaries that occurred within eight days, issued a call to action for locals to come forth with any knowledge of the crimes. The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office maintained an open tip line, inviting witnesses to report anonymously. While the details of the investigation and the resultant tip-offs have not been made public, the recent surrender of the suspects implies a successful conclusion to the search.
