Nordstrom Rack has set an opening date for its new Lakewood store: Thursday, October 29. The off-price retailer is moving into Denver West Village at 14357 W. Colfax Ave., a shopping center off Interstate 70 and 6th Avenue West, giving the area another destination for discounted clothing, footwear, and home goods.
The 24,000-square-foot store is part of a broader Colorado push by Nordstrom Rack, which is opening the Lakewood location alongside a second 24,000-square-foot Colorado store at Dillon Ridge Marketplace in Dillon, also slated for fall 2026. Nordstrom Rack is bringing its off-price shopping model to West Colfax, according to WhatNow, which first reported the opening date.
The Denver West Village address carries some retail history. The site housed a Whole Foods Market for more than 27 years before that grocer relocated to a larger, 49,500-square-foot store down the street at 14225 W. Colfax Ave. in December 2025, per local reporting on the move. That relocation freed up the space for Nordstrom Rack's incoming store.
Lakewood's Second Rack Store
This will actually be Lakewood's second Nordstrom Rack. The city has had an off-price Rack store since fall 2010, when a 35,000-square-foot location opened at the Belmar shopping district on South Vance Street, according to the Belmar Shopping District. Back when that Belmar store opened, Nordstrom operated only three off-price stores across the entire Denver metro area, a sign of how much the off-price segment has grown in the years since.
The new West Colfax location will sit inside a shopping center that already counts World Market and Barnes & Noble among its anchor tenants, giving shoppers more reasons to cross-shop the area. Nordstrom Rack carries clothing, shoes, accessories, beauty products, and home goods, including items from Nordstrom itself and other brands, sold at prices the retailer says can run up to 70 percent off, per WhatNow's reporting.
Statewide Expansion And Online Perks
Colorado now hosts 13 total Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack locations, serving markets that include Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins, Colorado Springs, and Lone Tree, according to the retailer's store listings. Nordstrom opened four new Rack stores earlier in 2026, and the company is aiming to open 20 stores across 15 states between August and November, per WhatNow.
The new Lakewood store will offer online order pickup for purchases made on Nordstrom.com and NordstromRack.com, along with on-site returns processing, giving the physical location a role as a local fulfillment hub for online shoppers. Because off-price retailers rely on rapidly changing inventory and rotating promotional pricing, Nordstrom Rack's corporate policy does not include price matching or price adjustments at any of its locations.
Nordstrom Rack has scheduled a grand opening celebration at Denver West Village for Thursday, October 29, starting at 8 a.m. MDT, according to the retailer's official event listing. Shoppers on Lakewood's west side will soon have two Rack locations to choose from, bookending the city from Belmar to West Colfax.
