Aurora's People's Building Honored with 2025 Arts & Business Partnership Award

The People's Building, an artistic hub located in the heart of the Aurora Cultural Arts District (ACAD), recently garnered the 2025 Arts & Business Partnership Award from the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA). This accolade serves as a nod to the building's significant role in boosting arts and culture within Aurora and its greater metropolitan surroundings, acknowledging both economic and community contributions.

As the arts scene in Colorado burgeons, contributing over $13 billion to the state economy annually, it is essential to note the sector's correlation with economic prosperity through tourism support, job creation, and backing local businesses, the Colorado Creative Industries Office reports and these economic activities intertwine firmly with community arts centers like The People's Building, which also fuels the local commerce engine with patrons often dining and shopping in the vicinity, says Ginger White Brunetti, the director of Library and Cultural Services for the City of Aurora, patrons often dine and shopping in the vicinity when they attend events there.

With its recent induction into the Library and Cultural Services’ portfolio, The People's Building aligns with the city’s Fletcher Plaza Urban Renewal Plan, driving forward the urban renaissance and fostering sustainable city growth. ACAD, now liaised with by Library and Cultural Services, is a state-certified Creative District with historical collaborative strategies primed to create a unified arts vision for Aurora, in line with its Cultural Arts Plan, as elucidated by White Brunetti, as obtained by the City of Aurora.
