Having weathered ownership changes including the purchase by a venture capital firm in 2020 after a bankruptcy filing, Trudy's closed its South Star location and a UT campus spot in previous years, despite the new owners hinting at expansions in the city of Austin and beyond—a plan, however, that saw no evident fruition before the final closure of its North Star establishment, as per My San Antonio.
